Good morning All Walnut - Did you see my late night post last night re last Tuesday's trading? Under current market conditions, I have my best trading days when SCAMs are up in premarket. Also, my call for VIX SCAMs to test all time low at EOD yesterday and SCAMs down in AH panned out. My style is always to take bulk of profits before market close and if I feel they'll be down in AH, I'll leave a small position on. In this case, 5k short TVIX which I closed out at 6.03 with the intention of closing out the position entirely before AH close regardless. So was it worth it for me to leave a position on overnight? As I type, its trading at 6.01. Obviously, easily said in hindsight. BUT if I was ever to leave a short SCAM position on overnight it would be a small one - say 5-7k shares and honestly would cause me not to sleep well. Hence, the reason why we need to find the Flux Capacitor! The time I would be really tempted to leave a short SCAM position on overnight would be when we have a really strong bullish Monday and I see carryover into Tuesday. In that case, the next morning GAP down in SCAMs can be large BUT even then it isn't worth it because even if I miss a TVIX 30 cent gap down (at current price levels), and see it dropping like a brick again, I would simply go in and short a ton (20-30k) shares and ride it down. Just trying to give you examples and my way of thinking.Overall, I have found that simply holding a short SCAM position on overnight/weekend isn't worth the risk unless you can come up with the flux capacitor.

250 k UVXY but zero TVIX available right now. For premarket, right now Scottrade has 171128 shares of TVIX available to short and UVXY is unavailable. That's a new one. lol Usually, the other way around. VXX -- There are currently only 338407 shares of VXX available to short Looks like IB grabbed up all the shares of UVXY and Scott grabbed TVIX. lol In premarket, from 6am EST - 7am EST is when I have most difficulty finding shares of TVIX or UVXY to short. BTW - Does anyone have Futures trading experience?

Today's word of the day is 'Triangles', 'Triangles' !! As a chartist - I need to present both bullish and bearish short term cases. Long term, so far, I am still bullish. Bullish - this sideways consolidation can be acting like a Half Mast and we are headed higher after confirmed breakout of trading range to UPSIDE. Bearish - this sideways consolidation acts like a REVERSAL and I am leaning this way in short term because of indicators. S&P Daily Chart S&P Hourly

If you are looking to short the VIX SCAMs today, there is a high probability that today's HOD for VXX, TVIX, UVXY, will at minimum hit yesterday's lod. I doubt with current market conditions, that they will leave another BREAKAWAY GAP down this morning BUT can happen. I just doubt it.
So VXX HOD should be at minimum 20.50, for TVIX 6.09 which coincidentally is also the gap to yesterday's close (since SCAMs closed at lows yesterday - TVIX technically 6.10).
My wife has another appt this afternoon around 2pm EST. Another injection in her knee. She had surgery for torn meniscus. So, I don't expect to do a lot of trading today due to that and simply because I'm not seeing a lot of opportunity right now. Might try a scalp or two this morning. So far no trades.

I have to drive to south Oklahoma in a few minutes. I have a bid to sell a few shares of VXX but the way it's looking even that may not happen.
Tomorrow I am going to be trading hopefully

Added to UVXY on this breakaway gap I wish you luck Huh and trust me I welcome a large spike in the SCAMs. It should happen in the near term (possibly within the next week or two) IMO. BUT I've been wrong this time around with my timeframes so far regarding a spike.

That will be one very expensive drive. It will cost you approx 5k in trading profits that you could have made today trading the VIX SCAMs. lol just kidding
Have a safe drive.

Huh it seems to me that you will have plenty of time to get into UVXY when the correction happens, without having to take the contango decay. I have no doubt that you can make money being long UVXY but I just wonder how many down days first. Then again what do I know lol

Dammit I know, I am wanting to get into this trading nearly full-time. But I have a crew of employees who depend on me to take care of business for them. That will be one very expensive drive. It will cost you approx 5k in trading profits that you could have made today trading the VIX SCAMs. lol just kidding Have a safe drive.

Man - Trump wasn't kidding when he said he was a workaholic. lol He's on CNBC again this morning. Another press conference. Meeting with AUTO CEOs. Do you guys think with the getting out of TPP, renegotiating Nafta and all the other efforts to bring jobs here, we will have inflation? If so, should be good for gold/silver?

I have no doubt that you can make money being long UVXY but I just wonder how many down days first. Then again what do I know lol That has been my thought, esp. after watching the vid with Dennis and Brian Sullivan saying vix is at a 40-yr. low! Now they tell us, lol.
