I think I'd still plug another, known good pc into that cat 5 cable to see how it does. Looks like the processor went.............typing from my kids PC after connection and having no problems............Toshiba only 3 years old and for the processor to go.............pisses me off to no avail...........

Thanks for the info. Verizon unfortunately not in my area. Will disconnect tomorrow and move upstairs and run Wi-Fi to see how it functions. Even at 30 would be fine if it would only stay consistent. AT&T in two weeks so hopefully I could rule out PC and blame Spectrum tech group for not being able to figure out issue after THREE visits to my house. I don't know much Herc, but was thinking of switching from AT&T to Spectrum until my friends who have it say it goes out all the time and since their phones are digital, they go out too. Like you, don't have Verizon as an option; it would be my first choice.

I bought a Lenovo desktop and a Lenovo laptop, I really like both. Really slick and smooth, and zero bloatware loaded. If you are interested I'll check the models of these two, I really recommend them for the money.

Their hardware doesn't hold up well. And if carrying one of those around? Forget about it. I concur about the Lenovos. I help a lot of family & friends with their computers, both for personal and business. Over time I've had them all switch to Lenovos as they've upgraded and now I get zero calls for assistance, whereas I used to get them almost daily. It really does come down to the lack of bloatware - HP's are probably the worst for bloatware. If shopping for a new computer, I'd recommend trying to get at least an I5 equivalent processor, 8GB RAM and an SSD drive (at least as a Hybrid set-up). Having the Windows OS on an SSD at a minimum makes a HUGE difference in performance and especially boot time. You can get a Lenovo laptop with all of this and a 256GB SSD for under $500. Unless you're a PC gamer, these minimum specs should get you years of good use.

It will be a little bit slower but in a much better price when combined with my phone and television

I did hear a lot of positive things on the new AMD chip ryzen however they still do not have any laptops out with them that I am aware of

I plan on doing a once AT&T switches me over in approximately two weeks. LOL on the gaming I have enough games with Wall Street to keep me busy. My kids use an Acer computer and is better than the Toshiba I am using. Never again with a Toshiba live and learn as they say.

I've been using an Acer W700 tablet as a desktop PC for nearly 5 years and never had any issues. I do prefer Intel processors though. I've had trouble with every AMD I've ever owned, though that was a long time ago, and they were usually HPs/Compaqs.

Carly Fiorina nearly destroyed HP. And I credit her with the clunky, bloatware HP's that are sold these days. I can't believe that the same company that invented and built these high quality 12-cs now make those Compaq pieces of trash.
