honestly i was little surprised to see that options expiring tomorrow with VXX 1% from the strike price of 12.50 the put options now trading at only 6c. On other days they would be at least 50% more expensive.. i dont have exact data but its just an approximate observation

VXX Charts Hate to say this but after a slow grind lower for 5 hours, 6th hour hit lower BB and is bouncing off of it so far -- and may put in a bottoming candle Candle closes out in 15 mins and would need confirmation. Have to see how that hourly candle closes out at 3pm EST VXX needs to push lower on that BB on hourly Lower BB on daily chart is at 12.57 also VXX can still slow grind it lower into 12.50 range BUT honestly VXX needs to spike hard and rollover to give it strong momentum to the downside and push onto new all time lows BBs are acting like a floor VXX Hourly VXX Daily Tight BBs

Daily BBs have really been the floor all day long. VXX may drift lower or may not.
High 12.50s look like they are coming now...

The $244.50 call is .03/.04. and the $242.50 put is .13/.14. Both are about $1 away from current price. Almost like they know SPY is not going up into tomorrow!

On phone with Interactive Brokers Had an account with them recently and closed out because of high commissions
Talking to them again because frustrated with Scottrade not having shares available of VXX to short in premarket before 7:30am EST
With IB: To short 50k VXX will cost $250-$300 To close out the trade will cost another $250
That's over $500 a day in commisions; $2500 week; roughly $10k a month
Even with their other tiered pricing it will cost a lot in commissions

But there are always shares to short unless major scams top.

But there are always shares to short unless major scams top. it's way too much in commissions slightly over $500 for a round trip talk to you guys later- Had a feeling VXX was going to pop little in final half hour

most of us don't have that problem mist never trade 40k shares, but I know I am also with IB, they charge half a cent per security traded. so basically one round trip you have to give them a cent and over time it certainly adds up. What did they tell you when you talked to them? Right now TVIX is trading at $21. 14,880 shares of TVIX will give you same performance as 50k shares of VXX (calculating TVIX at $21 and VXX at $12.5, where TVIX is double leveraged)

If I traded TVIX would be cheaper at 1 cent per share round trip since would require less shares
The other negative with IB is real time liquidation
With Scottrade I can let my shares ride all day maxed out on leverage and they won't close out or lighten up on my position if it swings against me
I got caught a few weeks ago and road out a spike with Scottrade that was almost a dollar swing in VXX while short over 40k VXX. I held thru the entire spike and pretty much came back to even on the day.
If I had IB, they would have been liquidating my position as it went against me. lol
Scottrade gives me a ton of free trades and when they do charge me its only $4.95 per trade Can't beat it. Only draw back is in premarket having hard to borrow issues. Oh well.

Wow, 3rd day in a row VXX didn't make a new all time low. Still red with a red S&P, again, but still. lol
XLF got that 23.95 (shoulder test line) backtest out of the way. If it holds it tomorrow it'll run up to test the head of this H&S. Yet another. Yet again.
