I haven't been studying charts.
Just setting up an entire group with separate painter board for charting in pre-post market only now that I have the capability.
Then I'm leaving my original group for regular market hours.
Very helpful tips with charting using fstockcharts Premium with real time stock/ index data.
I'm also going to look into their flagship TC2000 which is a little cheaper but is better and has more functionality.
see below email thread back and forth. I didn't figure out yet how to upload a pdf attachment to FAZ. Always get that error exeeds msg size and I can't be bothered trying to compress it right now.

We don't offer any futures charting in either service at this point.
The look and feel and feel of TC2000 and FreeStockCharts.com will be almost identical. There are just additional features available with TC2000 and its a newer more up to date platform (.Net based as opposed to Microsoft Silverlight)

Thx. They're all set to Board1 and I will change that to Board2 for pre/post market charting.
Also, do you have real time charting available for SP, DOW, NAS Futures as well as VIX futures?
I will give TC2000 a look -- will it have almost the same exact look as my charts now? Because I love the look of fstockcharts Premium.
See attached sample chart
Thx.

Hi Robert,
With the trendlines you can separate them by using different drawing boards for each. If you click the painters palate icon in the upper right of the chart you should see the boards listed below the available tools you can select from.
Maybe select Board #1 for the charts in one layout group and then some other board like #2 for the other layout group.
That will keep them separated for you.
There is a display bug that can cause the chart to jump around during the pre and post market session in FSC Premium.
The display bug which causes the jumping around has been corrected in our newer TC2000 software.
TC2000 is our flagship product and is very similar to the FreeStoclCharts.com Premium.
The comparable service for TC2000 would be a few dollars cheaper per month and would offer a lot of additional functionality.
All of your saved settings would transfer over as well.
Basically the cost for TC2000 Gold plus the real time data for US Stocks and ETFs and US Indexes would be $29.99 + $14.99 + $9.99.
You can learn more about TC2000 at
www.TC2000.com. It might be worth considering that route going forward as EasyScans, Alerts, Mutual Funds, and Historical Fundamentals which are add on services in FSC Premium are all included with the Gold service.
www.tc2000.com/videos/tutorialsThe TVIX-IV chart is not currently available in TC2000 or FreeStockCharts.com at this point.

I'll try to provide you with a quick video of what I saw happening in premarket with VXX. I'll upload to youtube if too large to email the video and send you youtube link instead. It is very difficult to catch it while it flashes back and forth.
TVIX is the ticker for TVIX and shows market pricing. TVIX is an ETN (exchange traded note) and is a complicated instrument that I love to trade. It is important to always know its indicative value. The ticker is TVIX-IV.
It would be nice to chart TVIX indicative value but if not possible then I'll just watch TVIX indicative value (TVIX-iV) from Yahoo (which is delayed). I believe my new broker Interactive Brokers allows for setting up ticker for real time Indicative Value (tvix-iv) so that would be even better.
Anyway, I'm setting up a group for ONLY market hours so I'm setting up all my charts to NEVER and will have all my trendlines correct. I am also setting up a group for ALWAYS show pre/post market data and I'm sure my trendlines will be slightly different then regular market group. Will both sets of trendlines stick with both groupings? Also, what is the difference between 'Only outside of normal market hours' and 'Always'.
Thx again for all your wonderful and helpful responses.
BTW -- I'm loving the Premium Version along with ability to chart pre/post market data as I trade pre/post market as well as regular hours.

Hello Robert,
Thank you for your response. Is there a way that you could send us a screen shot the next time you see this happen? Unfortunately, as of 09/2016, we have stopped disseminating data from the Russells due to the inability to reach an amicable pricing schedule with our Vendor. We are still attempting to work out a pricing schedule that will still allow us to provide fair and reasonable prices to our Subscribers. In the meantime, you can use IWM as a substitute for RUT-X. IWM is an iShares ETF which seeks to track the investment results of a broad-based index, composed of US equities.
If you type TVIX in to bring up a chart, this will give you the VelocityShares Daily 2X VIX Short Term ETN.
We hope this helps. If you can send us the screen shot of the candles, we can look into this further to see if we can replicate what is happening.
Sincerely,

Thx for response.
I love the ability to chart premarket/AH as well. I'm thinking I will setup an entirely different group for that and use my existiing group for only trading/charting during normal market hours.
One thing I did notice as that when VXX was charting in premarket, it wasn't clean and the candle it was trying to print (say VXX 15 min candle) would flash back and forth from left to right.
Is there a setting I need to fix this?
Thx

Thank you for writing. If you right-click on a chart and select Edit Chart Properties | Pre/Post Data, there will be three options available for Show Pre/Post Market Data. You can set this to Never, Only outside of normal market hours and Always.
If you set it to Never or Always then any trendlines you draw on the chart should be consistent whenever you look at them in that they will always be drawn and viewed either without pre and post market data (in the case of Never) or with pre and post market data (in the case of Always).
If you set this to Only outside of normal market hours, the data that is displayed will be different during the market day vs when the market is closed, so the trendlines drawn during the day might look off when the market is closed and vice versa.
Note that this setting is on a per chart basis and is not universal to the program. So it is possible to have different charts in the same layout with different pre/post market data settings.
Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

BTW - I notice VXX is charting even in afterhours as I type (6:18pm EST). I like it but worrisome that all my trendlines are thrown off.
See attached VXX 15 chart during market hours with all my correct trendlines. I saved and closed fstockcharts desktop app after market close and looked at VXX 15 min chart and all trendlines are off.
Please advise.
Thx

Hi,
I upgraded to real time US indexes and US stocks and I notice that in premarket this morning fstockcharts was charting the moves in VXX before market open.
Also, I drew lines on my VXX 15 min chart, saved it, saved layout group and closed and re-opened the fstockcharts desktop app and all my lines are thrown off.
I use log scale.
Please advise.
Thx.
