Man have they been lying to us about the economy.. I've been receptive to their gaslighting efforts I have to admit, wanting to believe the best. But the huge layoffs at UPS and elsewhere are evidence that we are being intentionally lied to. Our own business is extremely slow, but I was thinking that it was because we are in an interest rate sensitive industry, and that consumer goods etc were still selling fine. Nah, we're in a pretty bad recession at this point. All published economic data is basically pointless, not credible. Criminals

Criminals Huge? 2% of workforce According to UPS is was a "difficult and disappointing year". When the largest freight company says that, I'd call it a recession myself. And wasn't this their second round of layoffs? Executives announced Tuesday they're set to cut 12,000 mostly management positions, as CEO Carol Tomé informed investors that it was considering selling off its company's Coyote truckload brokerage business. She admitted in the meeting that “2023 was a unique and quite candidly, a difficult and disappointing year.”

Really, so many of our customers, competitors, and trucking companies who we deal with have quit business this year and especially this winter. Worst I've seen in the 15 years we've been in this business.

Worst I've seen in the 15 years we've been in this business. it's nasty out there for trucks. Super slow here too. Also have been making similar assumptions as your previous post.. mine more around seasonality. Construction.. rain.. cold.. slow. This whole past year has just been brutal though. I think the "quality" of work is being hidden. People are losing good jobs and being forced into several bad jobs. Data is hard to believe. Seattle construction pipeline has some serious bubbles flowing through right now. Lots of air space ...
