10 things in tech you need to know today 1. Apple announced its quarterly earnings yesterday and beat expectations. Its revenue was $52.6 billion (£40 billion), up 12% year on year, versus expectations of $50.5 billion (£38.6 billion) and Apple's own forecast of between $50-$52 billion. 2. A Twitter employee on their last day of work took down Trump's account for 11 minutes. Twitter said it is "taking steps to prevent this from happening again." 3. The iPhone X goes on sale today. People have been queuing outside Apple Stores for days. 4. Sprint and T-Mobile are reportedly working to save their merger after talks broke down. The wireless carriers could announce a deal within weeks. 5. Fintech startup TransferWise raised $280 million (£214 million) from Old Mutual and IVP at a $1.6 billion valuation. The money will be used to fund expansion in Asia. 6. Alibaba surged after beating on earnings and boosting its outlook for the year. China's largest ecommerce company reported adjusted earnings per share of 8.57 yuan ($1.29, £0.99), topping the forecast of 6.86 yuan ($1.04, £0.79). 7. Bitcoin's price passed $7,300 (£5,593) yesterday. Bitcoin has been on a tear over the last week, posting record highs on consecutive days. The digital currency had not been higher than $6,300 (£4,827) at the start of the week. 8. A new flagship phone from OnePlus is just around the corner — and it's keeping the headphone jack. CEO Pete Lau wrote a blog post on Thursday confirming that the rumored device exists. 9. HPE has shrunk so much that it's abandoning its iconic Palo Alto campus to move in with a company it acquired. After years of layoffs and restructuring, the company will consolidate some of its Silicon Valley offices. 10. HTC officially announced its new flagship smartphone. The U11 Plus has a six-inch display and thinner bezels than the HTC U11. www.businessinsider.com/10-things-in-tech-you-need-to-know-today-2017-11

10 things you need to know before the opening bell Apple crushed on earnings, beating its own expectations. It reported profit and revenue that exceeded Wall Street analyst targets, growing sales for all three of its major product lines — iPhone, iPad and iMac. The iPhone X is one sale now — and people have queued up for days to be first to get it. Announced in September, the iPhone X is the first major redesign of the iPhone in years, with an almost edge-to-edge screen, facial-recognition technology, and an increased emphasis on augmented reality. President Donald Trump is headed to Asia. The president will visit Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines. The White House says Trump will be aiming to "underscore his commitment to longstanding United States alliances and partnerships, and reaffirm United States leadership in promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region." Trump picked Jerome Powell to replace Janet Yellen as Fed chair. His appointee is a current Federal Reserve governor and former finance executive, and he'll face key decisions on whether to continue raising interest rates as the economy sends mixed signals about the growth outlook. Trump's Twitter account was deleted for 11 minutes by a Twitter employee on their last day of work. This was done to his personal account rather than his official White House account. UK house price growth is set to slow by half over the next 5 years. That's according to estate agents Savills, who used the forecast on Thursday. They see prices growing 14.2% between 2018 and 2022, a drop-off from the 28% price growth seen in the previous five years. Australian retail sales fell short of expectations. Data from the ABS showed nominal sales growth in September was flat at 0.0% in seasonally adjusted terms, short of forecasts for a gain of 0.4%. Stock markets around the world gained. Hong Kong's Hang Seng (+0.3%) rose in Asia, while the Nikkei also climbed (+0.53%). The FTSE 100 (+0.12%) led strength in Europe, which saw Germany's DAX increase (+0.29%). The S&P 500 is set to open up 0.1% near 2,579. Earnings reporting remains heavy. Fortis, Moody's, Revoln and US Concrete are among the companies set to report quarterly earnings on Friday. US economic data flows. Monthly nonfarm payrolls will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, as will the US unemployment rate. Other economic data includes: average hourly earnings, trade balances and factory orders. www.businessinsider.com/opening-bell-november-3-2017-11

VXX back within lower BB -- watching 15 min chart
Don't want any candles outside lower BBs
Need S&P to hit support now and VXX to rollover

thought about covering in premarket, thought that it might bounce dang. now gotta wait it out again. It's actually better that VXX is back within its BBs - candles completely outside lower BBs only spiked it back up to upper BBs By 10:30am EST, should be retesting lod again IMO reminder - contango pressing 10% BTW - And we just got done with a spike yesterday

I gotcha about the lower BB Look at what happened on 11/1 gap down on VXX 15 min chart 2 candles completely outside lower BB - which usually means spike is coming and it did that's why I covered on Wednesday in AH (but honestly should have covered even before AH) expecting spike yesterday

I know first hour shenanigans. But I have been pretty lucky doing little swaps and that looked like a pretty obvious one. Hindsight is 20-20

I know first hour shenanigans. But I have been pretty lucky doing little swaps and that looked like a pretty obvious one. Hindsight is 20-20 You have the ability to trade in/out today I don't since held overnight But at some point I will cover my shares and look to reshort on Monday - so I only get one shot and it has to be the best price and my day is over and weekend begins lol I believe past 2 Mondays futures have been down in premarket - not sure we get a gift again this Monday but just don't have the cahunas to hold over weekend even with SP 2594ish iH&S target However, I'm sure everything will be fine if you hold over weekend and I might even be missing a gap down I dunno - will think about it maybe you and LV can convince me BTW - if Trump is actually going to deal with North Korea - he's going to do it when no one expects it not saying its going to happen but just saying...

So that's a good sign
BBs didn't curl and cup underneath candles putting in a floor - they actually opened up
lower BB still angled down (upper left to lower right) VXX should ride that lower BB down now
contango over 10%
watching VXX 15 min chart

Trump leaves today for an Asian tour. I think that means no attack this weekend and IMO that information really matters. I might stay short over the weekend.
