I went about 25% of my account long on TVIX and got some call options in VXX.. Its already making money Even if we are a little early and say VXX does drop a little more to 11.70-80 range with SP2468-2488 approx, when they hit the SELL button to backtest the breakout from the other day I believe it will be good for at least a $2 jump in VXX and if it turns out to be a real correction/bear market then obviously we will hit a home run I will be looking to go long VXX when SP hits that target range BTW - I also would have preferred S&P to keep screaming higher into the close but obviously stopped at SP2463.54 ttyl Have a good weekend ALL

thanks for your input Mist, I just didn't want to miss out completely. I will double down on it if we hit those targets you mentioned

I like this post. haha I just bought some vxx for a bet too. It's not a bad idea to average in slowly Remember SP2468 still hasn't been hit Also, - just a question of at what point do they scream the S&P back down to descending support and this time will be the 5th test of low 2400 range and I wouldn't be surprised to see it break Note: last breakout it took the S&P almost 2 weeks to drop back hard BTW - 900M imbalance to BUY side Watch VXX struggle as usual with whole numbers -- 12 now BTW - we time this right and we can make a fortuneAfter that target is met, I'm also going to take stab at leaving VXX long position on overnight

Either VIX bounces some, or else VXX is going to be losing over 6/10 of a percent a day starting Monday. 9.51 is the second lowest VIX has been over the entire last 6 months. I am almost sure that VIX will bounce very soon. On June 9 when it got this low, VXX shot up almost 7% in a few hours. Add into the situation the $12 round number issue, and the toppy SP, and it could be a perfect storm

Jim's video
He explains everything perfectly for target of SP2468-2490ish. However, I don't agree with his long term view because with long term view scaling on right hand side changes dramatically. Also, he doesn't mention that at minimum, this recent breakout above resistance still needs to be backtested and means another trip back down to low SP2400s. After hitting our target range, it could take a few more days or week or two. I don't know exactly when they will hit the SELL button but S&P will put in a backtest and that's for sure.
Also, here's my email to Jim:
Hey, Jim Hope all is well. Regarding long term view of S&P over 3000 -- I don't think we can measure the long term range breakout the same we do on smaller scales. If you look at your monthly chart, the scaling on the right side is dramatically different above the range as opposed to within the range.
The distance from 1576 to 666 is only 910 pts. If you add that up you get a target of SP2486 (1576+910). I know this is using arithmetic and we use log scale. But simply measuring using a line between that range and place it on top of that range I believe may be skewed because of the scaling on the right side. The range from 1576 to 666 is expanded. And above that range look at how 1000 pts on S&P is a lot closer together.
Also, keep in mind at some point S&P has to still backtest the recent breakout above resistance (which is now descending support) and means a trip for S&P back down to low 2400s. And this will be the fifth test of that area and can break.
Large Rising Wedge - doesn't that mean that S&P will be taken back down to SP 2100 area at some point?
Would love to know what you think.
God Bless Rob-
