Under 3% roll yield between spot and the front month futures too. I'm definitely not interested in trading this today.

So, what are you thinking Las Vegas?
Over next week or so, don't touch shorting VIX ETPs ? Quick scalps only?
Thinking possibly period of backwardation coming up?

Under 3% roll yield between spot and the front month futures too. I'm definitely not interested in trading this today. I think it has the potential over next week or so to get a lot worse. I'm just trying to squeeze out a small gain / scalp today. VXX charts still bearish - but we know that can change quickly with FOMC tomorrow. And we have threat of S&P H&S pattern possibly forming.

Tough call Mist. But contango and roll yield for now are not attractive at all to me. To me, this is looking like you are fighting the trend and are hoping for divine intervention for the last hour.

VXX Hourly indicators still bullish and VXX 15 min indicators never rolled over bearish.
They could run it higher still.

But I believe very strongly in the Good Lord above and He has had my back for quite some time. VXX 16.93 Your about to possibly see a Miracle of God.

are you still holding the short? Yes, but I may exit and re-enter at higher prices today or wait for another day. One thing I am is very honest. I take a loss on the day, I will say so. If I'm up, I will say that as well. I don't BS. In the past, I've even posted my trading activity along with profit / loss statements. I'm still up huge since the elections. And technically looking back, I had about 80k in my trading account and I was able to more than double it and almost triple it looking back. Over $200k, then I pulled money out, switched to IB and now I only play with $80k in Scottrade (all house money of course). I thank the Lord every day for all that I have.

I traded years ago and then went on hiatus after my car accident / back surgery for a little over 2 years. About the settle the lawsuit this week for $200k. Again, I thank the Lord above. Also, my mom passed away a little over a year ago and had a big effect on me. I only started trading in the market again around Sept-Oct. of last year. Wanted to fine tune my TA skills again and started posting here at FAZ some time in October of last year I believe. We've been like a family here at FAZ. I'm glad to see you've joined us. You're very knowledgeable and experienced with trading these ETPs. You are really a cool guy and well liked here. You should setup an account, its absolutely free an easy. That way we can see when your online or not, can setup alerts, send private messages, etc.

I was an I.T. manager for many years and now I'm pretty much semi-retired at 48. Worked for major corp law firms in NYC.
If you don't mind me asking -- what do you do for a living Daniel?

Thanks Mist. Sounds like you have done quite well trading this. I'll eventually get around to making an account. I'm really lazy with setting up these kinds of things. I do online love and romance type consulting advice. It's quite nice because I can work anywhere but also work odd hours sometimes.

that is quite a settlement for a car accident. It must have been really bad. I was once a passenger in a school shuttle bus and the driver had a seizure which led to an awful accident. I ended up having to go to physical therapy for several months. Ironically a few weeks after i was done with physical therapy, i was rear ended and had to go back.

I ended up having to go to physical therapy for several months. Ironically a few weeks after i was done with physical therapy, i was rear ended and had to go back. That sucks. Sorry to hear. I was rear ended by a NYC sanitation vehicle (car not a truck) while at a red light coming off the 59th street bridge into Manhattan. It was the first Nor'easter of November 2012. Roads were very icy, slippery. The driver was a nice guy and apologized profusely. He couldn't help it -- He hit a patch of ice and slid into the back of my Ford Explorer. The damage was actually very light but it led to my back issues and eventually lower fusion surgery (2 levels - L4-L5-S1). If damage had been a lot more, I would have received a lot more BUT overall its a good settlement.

wow. that's really crazy. I also happen to have a 97 ford explorer. Seems like it's not so safe to get rear ended in an explorer. seems pretty crazy you needed surgery though. The physical therapy was a long process but seemed to help 100% over time.

The physical therapy was a long process but seemed to help 100% over time. You were lucky. I exhausted all options before going under the knife. Physical therapy, facet block injections, epidurals, etc.... But to no avail.

at least it worked for the surgery.

at least it worked for the surgery. Actually, it fixed the issue I was having with pain radiating to the front BUT gave me issues with my legs, left side sciatica, etc... I even woke up in ICU on blood thinners. I had 3 top surgeons and they pinched my Inferior Vena Cava behind the implant when they removed the blood vessel retractors, L5-S1 we have a clear run to the disc BUT in L4-L5, there are a lot of blood vessels that need to be gently pushed aside to get at the herniated disc. Well, when they removed the retractors, they realized they slightly pinched my being after screwing in the disc implant. That along with leg issues, its actually been a very difficult recovery. That, and my mom passing away in Dec. 2015 and I didn't even look at the stock market at all until a few months ago like I mentioned. I honestly wouldn't recommend lower back surgery unless absolutely necessary.
