I think I like it. Still messing around with it. Here is a whole screenshot. I am going to group those time frames by color code too.

Yeah, it looks the same as fscharts Premium. Change those chart properties to candlestick and make sure you have set to Open vs Close. Hurting my eyes. lol Also, don't forget to attach the different timeframes to different drawing boards. If you use 1 drawing board across all timeframes, trendlines get messed up and trendlines from smaller timeframes are brought over to larger timeframes like daily chart. With 1 drawing board it will look like a mess. Also, if the grouping your creating has pre-post market charting then it will mess things up as well. I created a separate Group (with its own set of tabs) for pre-post market charting with its own drawing board.

Right, I just set that one up. I only use candlesticks.
And yes I am learning about the drawing boards now.

I'm working on setting up IB TWS. I'm not sure if I'm still going to use Scottrader Java window for checking quotes.
trying to find symbol for Dow Jones Index and Nas Index
Also, for indicative values -
what is the symbol for TVIX-iv? UVXY-iv? I think I got it tvix.iv
Also, the symbol you have for daily contango rates - Is that something that you can send me? If not, I guess I'll figure out how to set it up. I assume you update the values (weightings) daily.

The symbols are TVIX.IV VXX.IV
etc it treats them like an index
I will send you instructions on how to put a contango ticker on your screen if you want one. I like to have it

First, put the Mar and Apr VIX futures tickers on your screen.
Then, right click on one of them and select "new chart".
Click on "virtual security" on the top.
In the top text field, enter this formula EXACTLY:
("VIX APR19'17 @cfe" - "VIX MAR22'17 @cfe") / "VIX MAR22'17 @cfe"
in the NAME field, enter: ~Contango
and click OK to save it. You have created the virtual security ~Contango
Just enter that ticker on your TWS and it should pull it up. I always just look at the "last" quote.

IB charting tool definitely weak and I removed it completely from layout. And no wonder why you can't enter your short VXX orders fast enough -- there's about 20 more different options to choose from. lol I forgot about that with IB. I have to learn what all these other trading options are. I know the obvious ones but have to learn all these other options to choose from. I also need to setup IB TWS to only show news for the VIX SCAMs and I guess general market news... With scottrade, you click on trade, then there's an option for pre/post market and then regular market hour orders Have you used IBs web interface? free image hosting

Chris -- take a screen shot of your IB TWS and upload it if you don't mind Or are you just using classic TWS? classic looks just like Scottrader steaming quotes Java Window

I just use classic TWS. You can streamline it so that you just click trade and it's done

IB order placing is fast, just two clicks basically. Use the Java app not the web interface. I don't know what the web charting is like

The classic java gets around Internet DNS flakiness. I have never even had a glitch with it.

Over 60 order types. lol
It appears they have a youtube channel with quite a bit of videos. Also, looks like order types are explained on their IB website as well.
I have my portfolio all setup. And I have IV for TVIX, UVXY along with VIX Mar22'17 and VIX Apr19'17 futures contracts
setting up virtual security
you can also right click on blank row, go to virtual security
what about weightings?
