Lots of weakness here. I expected either straight down, then straight up, or straight up. Apparently oil and the market can't rise together. I give up. Time for some yard work, or a nap, or both. BOL all Wouldn't we expect this action during this phase of the market (individual names sold/distributed as indices magically climb in defiance)? Isn't that the MM Escape Clause? I expect this 210 boogie to last all the way until the final hour. "Wouldn't we expect this action during this phase of the market (individual names sold/distributed as indices magically climb in defiance)? "You just described the entire market since Oct '11 - and especially since Oct of last year. lol I think IWM sees 124 before EOD

I told a friend this morning that I believe we'll soon see dollar, indices, commods, pm's, and bonds all falling together.
He doesn't believe it.
We'll see.

I told a friend this morning that I believe we'll soon see dollar, indices, commods, pm's, and bonds all falling together. He doesn't believe it. We'll see. I'll say very high odds you're right. The only one I'm on the fence about is bonds. Read a few contrasting scenarios lately. Can't decide who/what to believe. Likely they'll drop too. There'll be some serious panic/doom & gloom in the headlines when it all happens though. Only 2 two thoughts will be on my mind then. 1. Pre-QE levels 2. Reversion to the mean Actually 3: Short the p!$$ outta the market!!!!

Reversion to the mean would 'mean' a 39% drop from here

Looks as if GDX is done; perhaps one last spike to ~20.38 if "they" really wanted to put a golden nail in that golden coffin

Reversion to the mean would 'mean' a 39% drop from here Yes. Yes it would. I actually give high odds of a 20-30%-er in the next year. 40% a bit of a stretch, but well within possible.

I wonder if shipping tankers of water to California might be a business idea. It is cheap in Tulsa.
Can you imagine all the giant so cal cities residents paying $2 a gallon for trucked in water?

I'll bet we chunk around this SPY 210 for awhile today Nice call. Did exactly that. I thought for sure SPX & XLF would hit the green mark, and IWM hit 124. Everything looked really weak into the close. Guess that means time to gap it up? lol

That sounds like a blast. We could get a fleet of big rig tankers. Mount guns and armored protection all over the rig like Mad Max. We'd plow through anybody that tried to steal our water.

And our weapons could be giant squirt guns, you know, just to rub it in. It'd still get them to stop coming at us as they hurry to gather the water we fire at them.

I am actually going to do a calculation. How about selling those 370 gallon caged totes with a little pump. Filled up in CA with water trucked in at $2 a mile. Whats a green lawn worth to them?
CNBC just now talking about kicking bottled water companies out of CA...

Then there's this: finance.yahoo.com/news/people-furious-where-water-wal-160158195.htmlSacramento sells its water to DS Services of America, which bottles it and sells it to Wal-Mart and a number of other retailers across California. And to answer your question: Some of those folks will pay almost anything to keep the green lawns and the pools full.
