Now -7.5% on this warning: Corp., a maker of 3-D printing products, warned Friday its first-quarter results would fall short of expectations.
Shares dropped 11% to $26.71 in premarket trading. Through Thursday's close, shares are down 8.3% this year.
The company blamed currency and energy market conditions for lower customer spending. In addition, certain metal and nylon applications and performance issues delayed the company's ability to sell additional printers during the quarter, 3D said in a news release.
"We were surprised and disappointed by the abrupt interruption in customer demand late in the quarter from several economic factors that we believe caused our industrial customers to defer their planned investments," Chief Executive Avi Reichental said.
The Rock Hill, S.C.-based company said it expects a quarterly profit of 2 cents to 4 cents a share, excluding certain one-time items. Analysts have projected 17 cents in earnings, according to Thomson Reuters.
Revenue is expected to increase about 8% from the same period a year earlier to between $158 million and $160 million. Analysts have anticipated 24% revenue growth to $182.8 million.
Bookings are running ahead of the year-earlier period for the current quarter, Mr. Reichental said
Look at that growth expectation...

I don't understand this company...just read in New Yorker magazine that it was founded by the inventor of 3D printing, Charles Hull and started with Invisalign, invisible braces which should be a gold mine in itself. Must have had some mismanagement. Meanwhile, short squeeze today.

Looks like yesterday was only a dead cat bounce. Retraced to the 76.4 FIB from the 06/10 high and falling. Still seeing the downside target for 19.50-19.60

I removed DDD from my buy list. I saw a potential iH&S a few weeks ago, but it went too high on this last pop and failing now. My longer term downside target is still ~19.50, so I'll be staying away from this one. I'll probably be wrong and it rallies, but I'm not seeing a decent risk/reward here. (I know I said I wouldn't post anymore about this one - sorry, I lied - but this will be it) DDD 19.50 target hit. That's down at least 36% from when first posted. Saw potential recently for ~19.00, but close enough on the longer term call. Wow 19.50 Huh...? Still tempted to get back in before earnings. GL Amazing how individual stocks can move so much yet the indices barely budge, isn't it?

Fell all the way to 18.73 today...selling for high 90s in early 2014. Formed a giant h&s from there.

I've been watching DDD for some type of bottoming pattern, but haven't seen it. Could bounce to 21-22 from here (currently ~17.90's, stop against 17.49) but wouldn't be bullish until it proves over that

Seeking alpha says earnings for Q2 could be weak...then it should rally. As always, fwiw.

The only name red on my watch list currently. Not seeing much for support until much lower now. Gotta wait for a bottoming pattern I guess, and that could take weeks or months to form.
