Does anybody know the general ticker for Oil...............I found all types of crude future month tickers, however I cannot find a ticker for general crude / oil Thanks in advance for any assistance

At Nymex(now part of CME) the US crude futures ticker has a symbol that starts with CL for example CLZ is the crude oil futures contract that expires in December. I think (not sure) that the UK contract starts with BC (for Brent Crude)

Don't mess with ticker 'CL' unless you want to destroy your account in one week.

Let me add that the month symbol you want to look for is the "front" month - usually the next month to expire
