And to complete my triad of large cap bearish fundamental analysis...
MSFT
OK, I'm not an AAPL fan. I used to be when the iPhone first came out. I had it the first day - and at least the next 3 models the same day they were released. But I was always unhappy with the many limitations and eventually moved to Android to get around those.
And I'm definitely not a NFLX fan. Slow, disappointing content (& getting worse). And frankly, I don't even like the interface.
But I am a HUGE Microsoft fan! I've been one of their biggest proponents for years and years. I even liked DOS Shell. I even still use PhotoDraw for all those graphics and charts I create here! (if you know anything about PhotoDraw, you'd know why this is worth mentioning).
And I'm here to say that MSFT has messed up, in a BIG way, for the long term! I'll be brief:
Let's face it. MSFT already knows these things. The recentfiring resignation of Ballmer confirms it. But here's the thing...a major CEO of a major large cap company messes things up so bad that he has to be let go - yet the stock rallies? Be careful with that one.
Microsoft, if you are listening, I'm telling you either open up a contest for ideas for getting MSFT back on track, or simply hire me! I am available; mostly because I hate to see you fail so miserably right now! I know with simple modifications, Microsoft could conquer the mobile market. But they are very near a no-turning-back point in time.
The real shame of all of this (except XBOX) is that it pretty much comes down to a few very important things on the interface side. Things that MSFT could easily change in a few weeks/months and become a leader in the mobile market (and therefore retain the dominance in retail and corporate PC markets).
GOOG has taken what made Windows great, improved it, and put it in mobile devices.
Microsoft has taken what made Windows great and simply eliminated it, especially in mobile devices.

- Mobile market. Windows RT & Nokia...well, enough said there.
- PC Market (retailer consumers) - I know Windows OS' well. Very well. And Windows 8 desktop mode is by far the best system they've ever released, at least in the way it operates in the background and it's efficiencies. But this Metro RT stuff? Wow. Fail. Shame is, it's only the interface side that sucks! But it's the interface that made Windows so successful int eh first place! All in all though, none of that matters - people will ultimately want complete compatibility/syncing with their PC's & mobile...an ecosystem. In the end, if you can't have dominance in the Mobile market, you will fail in the PC Market.
- PC Market (corporate) - Corporate always eventually follows the retail market. Lose that, you lose corporate. Already saw this when people moved from BBRY to AAPL. And seeing it now from BBRY/AAPL to GOOG. Here's a quick example - as of this year my son's high school now requires students to buy and carry with them a Google Chromebook. ALL students. Even their computer labs, some of the best in the area, still have outdated MS hardware and PC's (and outdated teachers & personnel - my 15 yr old son has taught them things already). Now they are not upgrading those. Instead, they are moving to Chromebooks. Ouch Microsoft. You lose.
- XBOX - Recently MSFT tried implementing changes to their XBOX systems, specifically related to game licensing, which caused a public backlash. MSFT has already tried backpedaling some of that. And maybe they can/did it fast enough to save them. But games are changing. Not only cloud gaming, which MSFT is trying to tackle, but open source gaming, which MSFT has no clue on. For an example check out the expanding empires of things like Minecraft, or more recently games like Day Z. (I'm not a gamer at all, but my son is and I like to keep track of the developments in gaming from a personal-profit-viewpoint). Gaming will become much like, well, Youtube. Major games allowing individuals to modify it in their own ways and then release it for their own profit, all while the platform profits. And as soon as somebody like GOOG figures this out and releases their own system, platforms like XBOX and SONY will be dead. AMZN may already be on to this with their recent purchase of Twitch.
