Up to 20 inches of snow, 'brutal' temperatures hammer millions in Northeast if NG doesnt rally, I'd be shocked or maybe no one went to work today on wall st I wuz on a job once for a GC renovating a restaurant around Wall Street. I'd get there before 0700 and the ginmills along Broadway were packed to the gills even that early by the brokers...something ya don't ever forget... The only brokers who won't be there today are the ones who commute from White Plains and Connecticut sure there will be light trading but no one there? I doubt it. GL

JFK Shuts Down After Plane Skids Off "Ice Skating Rink" Runway: Entire Nation Blanketed In Subzero Deep Freeze Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/05/2014 - 09:35
It's cold out there. Cold enough that JFK's runways are so frozen, airplanes literally are skidding off runways, which is what happened seconds ago to a Delta airplane landing at JFK.The result: JFK is now closed until further notice. But that's just New York: elsewhere America is gripped in a cold spell which may beat all records, as 140 million Americans are expected to see subzero temperatures in the coming days, including the deep south. As CNN reports, "The deep freeze gripping much of the country is about to send temperatures plummeting to unbelievable lows. Parts of the Midwest and Great Plains will plunge as low as 30 degrees below zero on Sunday. That's where the Green Bay Packers will host the San Francisco 49ers in what could be the coldest football game in NFL history. By Wednesday, nearly half the nation -- 140 million people -- will shudder in temperatures of zero or lower, forecasters said. Even the Deep South will endure single-digit or sub-zero temperatures."

Pfffffth! Using only fundamentals would've come in handy last week by buying marijuana-based stocks too! Becoming legal in CO caused them all to have nice gains. (Colorado has since adopted that "Don't Bogart that joint my friend!" as their state song. lmao! Next stop municipalities to open up whore houses in order to reap additional tax revenues...well why not Nevada's Mustang Ranch is only one state away.)

Glad I didn't bite on any of those NG futures I was looking at last night. Prices move up and down for their own reasons. It looked like a good chart and a historic cold January was all the news. But I thought it was probably a trap.
Surely might go up soon though, this week

The 8.0 Bcf/d increase in demand over the weekend can be attributed to a 7.1-Bcf/d uptick in Midwest res/comm as frigid weather blankets much of the Midwest. The jump spurred total Midwest demand to 44.0 Bcf/d, helping to top the old Midwest demand record of 41.2 Bcf/d. Additionally, total industrial demand topped 23 Bcf/d for only the second time since Jan. 1, 2005, while US res/comm demand climbed to more than 72.8 Bcf/d for the third time. Total demand is slated to rise even more on Tuesday as the arctic weather expands eastward, boosting Northeast demand while sustaining strong Midwest demand.

The market makers just knew that millions of people just watched on tv the game in Green Bay at 4 degrees, and lots of them would be wanting to sit down at their computers that night and buy NG futures. The actual days trading is a different story.
